Development Update

It's been over three months since I've had a chance to post anything, but I'm happy to report that the updater code is done and pretty well smoke tested.
The updater is the engine behind the scenes that crunches everyone's turn orders, blows up their ships, interdicts their homeworlds, etc., so that's a big step complete.  Along the way I tweaked various rules here and there, just to make things flow a little more cleanly.  I'll throw together a list of the changes in this version compared to the old SE game, so you veterans can start thinking about how to adapt their strategies.
There's a lot of work to do on the user interface, but I'll pull up with Casey and maybe we can at least get something going enough to run a basic game soon.  In the meantime, I'll be doing some work on the site itself to add things like sign-up queues and game invitations.   Anyway, the glacier continues to inch forward.  Stand by!

did you use one of those

did you use one of those stovetop smokers for your testing?  A friend recently gave us one of those and they turn out to be pretty awesome

No, it was an outdoor wood smoker.  Smoked software -- delicious!
