Transmit Portal DataSubmitted by john on Tue, 08/12/2008 - 20:52 |
During this phase you can share wormnet portal navigation data with other empires. You can give portal navigation data to any foreign empire with whom you are in message contact. The navigation data given is the same as that acquired by actually traversing the portal, i.e., it allows safe navigation through that wormnet to that portal.
When you receive nav data for a new portal you will automatically be able to tell if that portal is (or is not) connected to any other portals for which you have nav data. Receiving nav data does not reveal any portals in the same wormnet that are as-yet unknown to you.
You can give data only about portals which you have traversed or which have been given to you on previous turns, and the recipient can make use of the given portal data on the same turn it is received. The location of the given portal will appear on the recipient's map using their local coordinate system. It is not necessary for the recipient to have scanned that portal's sector, but the recipient will not know what else occupies that portal's sector until they scan it normally.
Allies: Allied empires always share all wormnet portal data with each other automatically.
